Event Schedule

Friday, December 4, 2516:

730PM: We'll start our Abbey Fashion Show with a "Cocktail" Hour. We're offering Serenitea, our custom blended loose-leaf teas from the best tea capitals in the world which come in a variety of flavors. We'll also serve hors d'oeuvres made from fresh produce we grow here at the Abbey, as well as other delicious food goods we get at the local Farmer's Market.

830PM: After you've enjoyed some warm and iced tea, we'll start our Abbey Fashion Runway Show, and let you see some amazing Asian designs modeled by Geeks from all across Texas. Designs by Talon is supplying all of the pieces for the show – and Rick, the designer, will be available to take orders, as well, if you're interested in a custom piece.

After the Fashion Show, we'll give out Tour Guide materials for anyone who wants to check out the "Persephone" Nightlife. These materials need to be requested in advance, since the Abbey has limited funds. If you have any additional information you'd like to receive after the Fashion Show, such as late night eateries or convenient motels/hotels, please ask in advance, as well.

Saturday, December 5, 2516

12PM: Gather together at the Memorial Garden, which is part of the Abbey, and dress up for a festive costume picnic. Any costume will do, as long as it is Southdown Abbey and Persephone appropriate. We will enjoy the beautiful Persephone weather and great conversation with friends. Everyone will be given a picnic-style snack lunch, made from items from Shepherd Book's garden! After our picnic, there will be some group photos and then people will have free time until the evening festivities.

7PM: We'll gather in Fellowship Hall for another "Cocktail" and mingling hour, as we drink hot and iced tea and talk about our favorite things to do on a Saturday night. We'll debut some items for raffle, and allow folks to buy raffle tickets in order to win said items, with all proceeds going to the The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center.

8PM: After everyone gets a chance to mingle and buy their raffle tickets, we'll start the family-style dinner in Fellowship Hall. Enjoy BBQ from a local caterer on Persephone near Southdown Abbey, as well as dessert made by Claudia, one of our faithful members. (dinner menu)

9PM: After most everyone has had their fill of great food, the Bedlam Bards will start playing music for everyone until our feet are too tired to dance any longer. In between their sets, we'll give out the raffle prizes.

Sunday, December 6, 2516

1230PM: We'll meet at Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek and get ready for a 1PM screening of the Big Damn Movie on the Big Damn Screen. This screening will be available for the public, as well, to give additinal funds to The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center.

1PM: By this time, we'll be sitting in a dark theatre, getting reading to watch our favorite movie. Nothing beats watching a great film in a room with 150 other enthusiastic fans.

3PM: After the movie, we'll all go our separate ways, but take with us memories of a very enjoyable weekend at the Abbey.
